GREECE, N.Y. (WROC) — Back to school shopping may look a little different this year. However, local malls like Eastview and The Mall at Greece Ridge have seen steady traffic over the past month since they reopened. Mall representatives say they don’t expect traffic to change, just timing.
With school plans still being finalized, some parents and students don't even know if they'll be back in school physically this fall. Melanie Facio is the marketing director at Greece Ridge. She said she doesn't expect this to affect shopping habits.

MeSpoke , an application created by a Reston-based entrepreneur, secured an official patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Aug. 5 after a 39-month patent process upon the announcement of Apple’s iOS 14 release .
The app promotes user-generated shopping rather than the influencer trend seen on mainstream social media today.

Man faces Burglary charge after shopping with allegedly stolen card - Casper, WY Oil City News
Court papers say that Robert McMIckell made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 to hear the recommended felony charges of Burglary and Theft read to him.
According to an affidavit filed in the case, officers with the Cheyenne Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle burglary on June 18th, 2020.

Police officials then contacted one of the locations where some of the alleged fraudulent transactions were made and obtained a still shot picture of the suspect, who was later identified to be McMickell.

In the past, Empowerment 3D has always taken a group of students on a trip or cruise before school starts. Due to COVID-19, Program Mentor Jerome Cofield said taking a trip this year wasn't feasible, but they still wanted to do something for a local group of students.
"Last year on the cruise to Cozumel, the seven young men that we took on the trip took it upon themselves to pay it forward for a group next year," Cofield said. "We took that money that they paid forward, and we matched it. Then, we got individuals from the community to partner with us and raise money to do the shopping spree."
