Engaging customers has been one of the biggest challenges for businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. But there is hope on the horizon for organizations that use this challenge as an opportunity to better understand who their customers are and what they want.
As of May 10, 58% of U.S. adults reported they were completely (17%) or mostly (41%) isolating themselves due to their concerns about COVID-19. Businesses must engage with customers still at home -- and, more vitally, reengage with customers as stay-at-home orders lift. And customers may reduce spending as they anticipate tougher times ahead. A recent survey found that 51% of Americans have been spending less money in recent months .
Quite a lot has been going on:
What will bring customers back?
Now that restaurant dining rooms are reopening, what will get them filled with eager customers again? A flurry of new research reveals what hooks are most effective in pulling back dine-in customers.
The "doh!" answer: It'll take more than assurances of safety and precaution to turn their heads.
Not that those factors aren't critical. Nearly three out of four (71%) of respondents are basing their decision to dine out again on assurances from government and local health officials that it's safe to enjoy a sit-down restaurant experience, according to a survey jointly conducted by Rewards Network, American Airlines and United Airlines.
3 Proven Ways to Connect with Your Customers - Business 2 Community
Connecting with your customers and prospective customers is crucial if you want to build a successful business. If you can't engage with your target audience by delivering superior products that meet or exceed customer expectations, you won't grab their attention, secure their interest, prompt a decision, or convert to sales that support your business.
Typically, much of a company's marketing activity and budget focuses on customer acquisition . However, this thought process ignores the importance of keeping existing customers happy and increasing their value by encouraging both retention and increased average order size.
