The company didn’t offer extensive details about the integration when it was announced during Google’s I/O Developer event this afternoon. But the news follows a series of updates to Google Shopping resulting from Amazon’s increased investment in its own advertising business , which threatens Google’s core ads business.
Google made its pitch to online advertisers today, describing how its so-called “Shopping Graph” would now begin to pull together information from across websites, price reviews, videos and product data pulled directly from brands and retailers, to help better inform online shoppers about where to find items, how well they were received, which merchant has the best price, and more.
Sweet Expands NFT Marketplace to Shopify Ecosystem
"To date, NFTs have been primarily sold through third-party crypto marketplaces, forcing brands to make the hard choice of directing consumers to an off-brand experience. Additionally, broader consumer bases want to buy and own NFTs but are confused by complex and intimidating blockchain wallet setup, and don't know how to get started.
Sweet's scalable NFT platform is democratizing NFTs and creating broader ways for retail and consumer brands to offer digital collectibles to their users. The ability to sell and distribute through Shopify's e-commerce platform not only enables direct NFT sales but also enables gamified, bundled, "gift with purchase" NFT experiences with physical merchandise.
'Not a family': Shopify CEO tells staff the company will focus on business, not solving social
S hopify's CEO is pushing back on the notion that his company should be at the forefront of corporate activism and reminded employees of their role at the business.
"It should be massively obvious that Shopify is not a family but I see people, even leaders, casually use terms like 'Shopifam' which will cause the members of our teams (especially junior ones that have never worked anywhere else) to get the wrong impression," he added.

Despite insisting that it's not interested in being a retailer or a marketplace, Google's latest forays into the eCommerce space might suggest otherwise.
This as the search giant not only announced an expanded partnership with Shopify at its big annual I/O developers conference, but also outlined a raft of changes aimed at turning the 1 billion purchasing queries it processes each day into a more holistic buying experience via its Shopping Graph, which it calls its most comprehensive, real-time dataset about products, inventory and merchants.
Shopify CEO Sends Email to Staff Saying Company Is 'Not a Family': 'We Cannot Solve Every
"Shopify, like any other for-profit company, is not a family," Lütke wrote. "The very idea is preposterous. You are born into a family. You never choose it, and they can't un-family you. It should be massively obvious that Shopify is not a family but I see people, even leaders, causally use terms like ' Shopifam ' which will cause the members of our teams (especially junior ones that have never worked anywhere else) to get the wrong impression."

This year's event was mostly virtual, with a few in-person attendees at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
