AI, cyber terrain analytics improve hybrid multicloud security | VentureBeat
Typical hybrid cloud IT integration strategies have fundamental design flaws that CIOs and CISOs need to address if they're going to avert another attack on the scale of SolarWinds. The design flaws are evident in existing approaches to integrating public and private clouds with legacy systems. Inconsistent endpoint security and privileged access management has turned out to be highly penetrable and painfully lacking.
The first two articles in this series explain how getting hybrid cloud security right is hard and how the SolarWinds hack exposed hybrid clouds' greatest weaknesses. This post lays out an approach to solve hybrid cloud security challenges today.
IoT, AI, analytics and telematics can help small businesses improve their efficiency and bottom
While many small companies might think they can't afford these technologies in their logistics, that's not the case, even for companies with only a few trucks.
I'd argue that most small company owners do know that collecting IoT-generated data from their trucks, and being able to examine it with analytics systems will deliver valuable business insights—but they think that cash and internal support resource constraints preclude them from taking advantage of these technologies.

Analytics shop Sisu's new tool automates search results visualizations | VentureBeat
Data analytics shop Sisu today unveiled a Smart Waterfall Charts tool that automatically visualizes search results for users of its platform.
The Sisu platform scans schemas, data types, cardinality, and other related attributes of data sets regardless of the physical location. It then automatically transforms the information into an index that can be queried using natural language. The challenge has been that, before now, someone still needed to manually massage the results of those queries to visualize them for users via a dashboard.
Real-time streaming analytics, with history added, best for CI/CD and microservices, says
As organizations continue to collect more and more data, the cost of analyzing that data can cripple margins. Companies, therefore, are cherry-picking data to analyze. That's a mistake, according to a startup that specializes in real-time streaming analytics. Why?
Organizations aren't tapping their data resources fully because it's simply too expensive to analyze everything. That's despite the advantages of doing so, like monitoring observability, which is "probably the largest data producer inside any organization," Assaraf said.

Those numbers will show if they're interested enough to keep digging for more information.

SAS wants to get people curious about analytics with new tagline | IT Business
When the SAS Institute was founded more than 40 years ago, analytics was a somewhat esoteric discipline familiar only to statisticians and academics and artificial intelligence (AI) was science fiction. SAS’s software was promoted based on features and functions; people outside of its realm weren’t aware of it.
Now analytics and AI are top-of-mind for virtually every business, and the market is crammed with companies offering products and services. In the face of that, SAS decided to up its marketing game, appealing not only to people’s logic but to customers’ emotional side in a quest to raise awareness and to ensure people understand analytics.
