On an earnings conference call, company executives said they expect the spending spree to continue, as U.S. consumers reemerge into the world and spend money they stashed away during the coronavirus pandemic .
Store traffic rose in April — the first increase in a year. When customers shopped, they tended to buy more, too. The average ticket rose by 9.5% in the first quarter, even as overall transactions fell by about 3%.

3 companies dropping more than 50,000 Florida home insurance customers
The three insurance companies dropping more than 50,000 customers are Universal Insurance of North America, Gulfstream Property & Casualty, and Southern Fidelity.
While some insurance agents are reaching out directly to their customers to let them know they're getting dropped, it's on the state to send out the notification, and with those letters going out last week, there's a good chance not everyone is aware they're about to go into hurricane season without coverage.

Customers Know What They Want | MarketingProfs
Marketers often feel like second-class citizens in their companies because people think new products and services come first and marketing comes afterward.
Maybe you've heard something like this from colleagues or friends: Assuming that people know what they want and need for a product is a mistake, because they simply don't—just like nobody knew that we needed an iPhone before the first iPhone was launched. Just like nobody knew they wanted Alexa until Alexa was born, or Ring Doorbells until it was launched, or PowerPoint until Microsoft came up with it, etc.
Retailers — and their customers — are divided over maskless shopping
Home Depot and Target said Monday that they would relax their policies, joining Starbucks , Trader Joe's, Walmart, Publix and BJ's Wholesale Club.
"It's their business. They can do what they want," Luis Villalovos said outside a big-box store in Virginia. "If they don't want to enforce the mask mandate, then that's on them."
While masks are encouraged for nonvaccinated customers, shoppers and employees who are fully vaccinated "are not required to wear masks or facial coverings in Home Depot stores, except where it's mandated by state or local ordinances," said Sara Gorman, a spokesperson for Home Depot.

4 Sales Strategies for Gaining and Retaining Customers
Now more than ever, sales organizations need to implement smarter strategies and technologies that will allow them to serve up the right data, the right guidance, and the right insight at the right time to be able to connect with their buyers on an emotional level—to build trust, empathy, and, ultimately, loyalty.
