Some Elkins water customers may see higher bills | News, Sports, Jobs - The Intermountain

ELKINS — Water meters are being replaced throughout Elkins, and some customers may see higher bills as a result, Elkins city officials announced Friday.

The higher bills are not happening because of a rate increase or inaccurate meters but because certain customers’ bills were being estimated, and their actual water usage has increased in the meantime, according to a City of Elkins press release Friday.

Develop a buyer's guide to educate your startup’s sales team and customers –

Every company wants to be innovative, but innovation comes with its share of difficulties. One key challenge for early-stage companies that are disrupting a particular space or creating a new category is figuring out how to sell a unique product to customers who have never bought such a solution.

This is especially the case when a solution doesn't have many reference points and its significance may not be obvious.

Businesses see risks in maskless policies for vaccinated customers - OPB

A grocery storekeeper who will keep requiring masks in the store, rather than check vaccination cards.

A jewelry store owner who'll keep a "masks required" poster up, but won't confront customers who uncover their faces.

And an amusement park manager who "desperately" wants to open, but won't because of threats from people who oppose any mask rules.

OPB's Think Out Loud spoke to proprietors of Providore Fine Foods, a Northeast Portland specialty food store; Betsy and Iya, a jewelry shop in Northwest Portland; and Enchanted Forest, an iconic amusement park on Interstate 5 south of Salem.

Recognizing Your Customer’s Purpose is Key to Growth

Many organizations spent 2020 scrambling to catch up on decades-old trends, such as working from home, online commerce, and virtual events. What had long been a priority had suddenly become the priority, and too many businesses found themselves unprepared. As things open up in 2021, other pre-pandemic trends are revealing their importance to post-pandemic success, including purpose, customer experience, and their combined role in driving growth.

It now seems every month a company previously known for dispassionate dedication to profit and efficiency launches a new and emotive purpose statement. Though these meticulously crafted declarations are on-trend with stakeholder capitalism , companies that don't go beyond inspiring oohs and aahs of solidarity among customers, employees, and shareholders may be setting themselves up for a negative backlash — and missing their most significant transformational growth opportunity.

Why Segmenting Your Customers Right Is Imperative For Sustained Growth

A recent research study reveals that only 41 percent of B2B companies are actually using sophisticated tools to do customer segmentation. This is a major barrier for most companies to create new products and innovation. Customer segmentation helps in delivering the relevant and important benefits to the customer groups in a consistent manner and will drive competitive advantage.

The choices and alternatives available today for any customer are plenty. Because of these choices in features, substitute products, different price points and so on it is difficult to command loyalty of customers even in a B2B situation. If we know the detailed needs of our key customers we will be in a position to develop and deliver products and services that appeal to them and earn their loyalty. Most marketing books teach us that segmentation is what marketing is all about.
