Aroostook Festival Market gets folks shopping locally

Deena Albert, a park vendor who helps put together the farmers market in Presque Isle says this helps keep local vendors busy during the colder months.

"This just gives us another avenue to sell produce and products throughout the winter," says Albert "It's just nice to do that continually. We did 19 weeks last summer and so being able to do once a month this winter has been fantastic."

There are more than two dozen different local farms and producers represented at the market this weekend.

Shopping at West Side Market, hiring home health aides and politics at work: Calling All Readers

Nut crispies sit inside the case at Vera's Bakery, West Side Market, where there are few places to sit and eat them.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — We aim to produce better journalism through dialogue with our readers. We're using ''Calling All Readers'' posts online to start those conversations. Every weekend, we'll summarize the week's Calls to readers on Cleveland.com , and print those summaries in The Plain Dealer.

Have you hired a home health aide? When an elderly or ill person needs help at home, a health aide is often the answer. Some families choose to use a home health agency that has aides on staff, while others directly hire an independent care provider. Have you or a family member ever hired a home health aide? What was the experience like, and how did you ensure the aide was a good fit? I want to hear your story.

Actually, it is a $5 billion behemoth still under construction from the people who brought America the Mall of America. When done, this consumer cathedral will be our nation's largest in square footage.

The mall's highlight is Big Snow American Dream, a mouthful for an audacious enterprise, which is more than 4 acres, packed with 5,500 tons of man-made powder and billed as North America's first indoor, year-round, real-snow, real-slope ski and snowboard experience.

Sanity Returns: How USB4’s New Logos Will Simplify Shopping

Buying the right USB cable can be confusing, thanks to obscure naming schemes that are hard for even techies to remember. This will change this year when the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) introduces simpler labeling for USB4: USB20 Gbps and USB40 Gbps.

As a bonus, the USB-IF is tweaking USB 3.0 to reduce some of the confusion around “SuperSpeed.” If everything goes according to plan, all those cables advertising support for “USB 3.2 Gen 2×2” will vanish from the market.
