Florida man accused of taking nearly $50,000 from Cobb bank customers

David Alan Powers of Tarpon Springs, Florida, is wanted on seven counts each of identity fraud and felony theft by taking in connection to a series of bank withdrawals he allegedly made using fake identification.
On May 22, Powers allegedly conducted the same modus operandi at SunTrust Bank locations at 47 Whitlock Avenue in Marietta, 1184 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw and 1331 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta.
After presenting a fake ID of the customer he was allegedly targeting, Powers filled out withdrawal slips and obtained $7,700 from the bank on Whitlock Avenue, $4,700 from the Barrett Parkway branch and $8,000 from the Johnson Ferry Road location.

Canadian budget carrier Flair Airlines Ltd. issued a fraud warning Friday saying customers should beware of fake websites impersonating its employees and services.
Kelowna, B.C.-based Flair said it has become aware of false sites requesting potential passengers to call into a toll-free number to complete transactions, which Flair does not do. “Should a window appear with a phone number to call please be advised you may be experiencing fraud,” the carrier said in a statement.
