Michael Wenzlaff has been a major force in facilitating music in Cape Coral and throughout our area for more than three decades. Although his impact was recently diminished, in part due to business challenges brought on by the pandemic, he has continued to help people keep the beat going.
He meets some customers to exchange rental or repaired instruments at the Cape Coral School of Music and other spots.

Cheesecake on Point! , which has been operating primarily as a food truck and a catering operation providing desserts to other restaurants, opens Saturday in a former antiques store at 9809 W. Markham St., Little Rock, where its shopping center neighbors include an insurance agent, Fuller & Sons Hardware, Andy's and the commercial kitchen in the back where Certified Pies cooks. And yes, it's directly across West Markham Street from the lot where the food truck regularly parks.
The food truck and new bakery represents the "cheesecake brand" of Cinnalightful, a wholesale gourmet bakery that has been operating out of the commercial kitchen, and which supplies cheesecakes and baked goods for multiple restaurants in Arkansas and also food service Sysco.

Austin and Travis County's animal shelter, Austin Animal Center, reached negative kennel space May 4, meaning there are more dogs than available kennels, according to a release from the city of Austin.

Rebuilding the Boardwalk, wiring the city for internet, and beautifying and rebuilding Atlantic and Pacific avenues are some of the keys to Atlantic City's long-term success, according to a state-issued report outlining the resort's path to post COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
"This report represents my Administration's commitment to helping the Atlantic City community come out of COVID-19 stronger and more resilient than when this public health emergency started," Gov. Phil Murphy said in a statement. "It also demonstrates our determination to build on the great progress that was being made pre-pandemic to address the economic, local government and community wellness issues facing the city."
Korner Island brings Kona Ice to vacant Marquette Heights storefront
Kona Ice of Peoria has been operating shaved-ice trucks in the area for the past five years. According to owner Robin Durdel, the decision to expand operations to a stationary building came as a result of community feedback.
"The more we came with our trucks to Marquette Heights, the more we realized there isn't really anything there for its residents," said Durdel. "We would have multiple people come by and ask us, 'Hey, why don't you put up a shop here?'"

In the family-friendly production "Beep Bop Boop Is Alien for 'I Love You,'" Big Storm Performance Collaborative offers the premise of a friendly visitor from another galaxy who's dropped in to take some pointers from Earth humans. A lone actor is stationed behind a glass storefront on Penn Ave., in Bloomfield, while the audience of up to six people will occupy chairs on the sidewalk.
