Switzerland's Brilliant "No Drama" Ad Campaign | One Mile at a Time

While lots of tourism boards spend money on advertising, it’s rare that these campaigns get widespread attention and are objectively well produced. Well, Switzerland’s new “No Drama” ad is an exception. Swiss tennis champion Roger Federer has become an unpaid tourism ambassador for his home country, and he stars in a new 90 second ad alongside legendary actor Robert De Niro.

In the ad, Federer tries to convince De Niro to film a movie in Switzerland, pointing out how pure, impressive, and beautiful it is. But De Niro doesn’t like it, pointing out that there’s “no drama” there, as it’s just too perfect. It’s a funny angle, and an unconventional approach to promoting a destination.

Despite having no Democratic opponents on the ballot in the June 8 primary, look for television and digital ads from the Murphy for Governor 2021 campaign starting this week, touting his message of a "stronger and fairer" New Jersey in a post-pandemic world.

The campaign will spend almost $5 million on media ads ahead of the primary, a spokesperson said Tuesday.

"Campaigns just start earlier and earlier," Froonjian said of the general election, in which Murphy will either face GOP frontrunner Jack Ciattarelli, a Somerset County businessman, or Linwood's Hirsh Singh, who are battling it out in a Republican primary.
