Signal tried to run a very honest ad campaign on Instagram. Facebook said no.

Privacy-oriented messaging app Signal tried to run a very candid ad campaign on Facebook-owned Instagram, but it wasn't meant to be.

Signal explained how it went down in a blog post Tuesday . The idea was to post ads on Instagram which use the data an online advertiser may have collected about users, and basically show the user what that data might be for them.

"You got this ad because you're a teacher, but more importantly you're a Leo (and single). This ad used your location to see you're in Moscow. You like to support sketch comedy, and this ad thinks you do drag," one of the ads said. According to Signal, the ad "would simply display some of the information collected about the viewer which the advertising platform uses."

Jeff Crouere: How a $3,700 ad campaign may have saved the Senate | Columns | hannapub.com

Republicans and conservatives often rely on political "experts" who are expensive and ineffective. One example is the prominent Republican consultant who was hired to win the two Georgia U.S. Senate races in January. It is rumored that he had a $100 million budget at his disposal. Well, we all know how that turned out.

The Georgia experience should teach Republicans an important lesson: money is not everything. It is important, sure, but it does not guarantee victory. Conversely, if you spend your funds with surgical precision sometimes you only need a little. In essence, how you direct your efforts can be more important than the size of your effort.

Facebook Launches Quest 2 Ad Campaign Focusing On Fitness

New ads have appeared in the last week indicating Facebook is increasing its Quest 2 marketing push with a renewed focus on the device’s fitness and exercise capabilities, not just as a gaming device.

According to AdWeek , the campaign kicked off to coincide with National Fitness Day and consists of a variety of physical ads in billboards and newspaper in Los Angeles and New York.

One of the most prominent ones was a full double spread ad in the Sunday edition of the New York Times, pictured below. It shows a woman using a Quest 2, accompanied by the headline “Why People Didn’t Celebrate National Fitness Day.” While the body text isn’t legible in the low resolution image, it presumably explains the benefits of using the Quest 2 as a fitness and exercise device.

Ad Campaign Duration: How Long Does Advertising Take to Work? - Business 2 Community

One question I see asked at least weekly about ad campaigns are what is the typical ad campaign duration they start to work?

I always think about it too and it should be your first question! If you're spending money then it's your right to have at least a basic understanding of how long you should expect to spend it. Every person selling advertising has told me that it takes time to work. That's just it though, they're selling advertising. The longer you advertise the more money they make.
